Kelsey Anderson
Lead BCBA
Kelsey began her ABA journey in 2017 while attending college. Since then, she has worked with a wide range of clients across the lifespan, with a special passion for supporting older children, teenagers, and young adults. She brings experience providing services in home, clinic, school, and community settings, allowing her to create individualized treatment plans that promote meaningful progress across environments. Kelsey values a collaborative approach and believes the best outcomes are achieved through strong partnerships with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors with her dogs.
Kari Lentchner
BCBA Initial Assessment Coordinator

I have been working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for the past 10 years, beginning  my career while attending college, obtaining my BCBA in May 2021. Throughout my experience, I have provided services across home, clinic, community, and school settings, giving myself a well-rounded perspective on supporting individuals in a variety of environments. Over the course of my career, I’ve worked with individuals ages 2 to 21 with diverse strengths and support needs, including those with intensive challenging behaviors and individuals who communicate using nonverbal methods or alternative communication systems. I’m dedicated to building strong relationships with the individuals and families that I serve and believe that collaboration, compassion, and consistency are key to successful outcomes. Helping clients build independence, develop meaningful skills, and reach their full potential is what makes me love the work that I do every day.

Anai Perez
Lead RBT
Anai’s ABA journey began in high school as a day camp counselor for kids on the spectrum. Now she trains new RBTs and supports BCBAs, making sure every therapist is providing exceptional care. Working with these kids is rewarding and brings her genuine joy.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does insurance cover ABA therapy for autism in Utah?

Yes, in most cases. Utah requires state-regulated health plans to cover autism diagnosis and treatment, including ABA, and Utah Medicaid covers ABA for eligible children. Self-funded employer plans follow federal rather than state rules, so benefits vary by plan. Our team verifies your benefits and handles authorization for you, so you know what’s covered before therapy starts. See the insurance plans we accept.

ABA therapy can begin as early as toddlerhood (18 months to 2 years old) and can help children across age groups. Little Champs ABA supports children from toddlers through the teen years, and your BCBA tailors goals to your child’s age and needs.

Start with your child’s pediatrician. A referral is useful and often required by insurance, and your pediatrician can refer you for an autism evaluation if you don’t have a diagnosis yet.

Then look for four things in any Utah ABA provider:

  • BCBA supervision: a Board Certified Behavior Analyst designs your child’s plan and oversees the therapists.
  • Insurance: they accept your plan and handle verification and authorization for you.
  • The right setting: in-home, clinic and school-based options you can mix.
  • How fast they can start: including whether there’s a waitlist.

Little Champs ABA checks all four. Our BCBA-led teams serve families across Utah at home, at school, and at our Cottonwood Heights and Park City clinics. We accept most major Utah insurance plans, including Medicaid (see the insurance we accept), and we don’t keep a waitlist. Book a free consultation and we’ll talk through next steps.

Yes. Little Champs ABA provides school-based ABA across Utah, working alongside your child’s teachers and, where relevant, their IEP or 504 team. We coordinate with the school and follow its policies, and many insurance plans cover school-based ABA when it’s part of an approved treatment plan.

The length of therapy depends on your child’s needs and progress. After an assessment, your BCBA recommends a plan, and approved hours are also set through your insurance authorization. At Little Champs ABA, most children receive between 10 and 40 hours of ABA per week, in line with industry practice guidelines from the Council of Autism Service Providers (CASP): focused programs for a few specific goals run roughly 10–25 hours, and comprehensive programs for broader needs roughly 30–40 hours.

Your BCBA reviews progress regularly and adjusts hours and goals as your child develops, and how long therapy continues depends on that progress and your family’s goals.
