FAQ - Colorado Springs ABA Therapy

Colorado Springs has multiple school districts — how do I know which one covers my address?

Colorado Springs is served by several districts including D-11, Academy District 20, Widefield, Fountain-Fort Carson, and others depending on your address. Your district determines which IEP team you work with. ABA therapy through Little Champs ABA is independent of your school district and available to families across all Colorado Springs districts.

Yes. Addressing challenging behaviors including meltdowns, aggression, and self-injury is one of the core functions of ABA therapy. A BCBA conducts a Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA) to understand what triggers the behavior and what function it serves, then builds an individualized behavior support plan to reduce it and replace it with more effective strategies.

A BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) is a master’s-level clinician who has passed a national certification exam in applied behavior analysis. At Little Champs ABA, a BCBA designs every treatment plan, supervises all sessions, and conducts regular assessments. The Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) who work with your child daily are trained and supervised by the BCBA, ensuring consistent, high-quality care.

Recommended hours vary widely based on the child’s age, diagnosis, and specific goals — ranging from 10 to 30 or more hours per week. Little Champs ABA determines the appropriate intensity through the initial BCBA assessment, and hours can be adjusted over time as your child makes progress or as family needs change.

Yes, and it’s one of the most important components. Our ABA therapy programs integrate parent training into every treatment plan, teaching families the same strategies and reinforcement techniques used during sessions. This allows progress to continue during the many hours each day when the therapist is not present.
