FAQ - Evergreen ABA Therapy
Does living in a mountain community affect access to ABA therapy?
In-home ABA therapy removes the geographical barrier that affects access to clinical services in mountain communities. Rather than requiring your family to drive down the mountain for every session, our therapist comes to your home. We work with Evergreen families on scheduling to ensure that travel and weather conditions are accounted for when building a reliable weekly session plan.
My child was recently evaluated by Jeffco Public Schools — what does the IEP process look like?
Once an evaluation is complete, Jeffco schedules an eligibility meeting to determine if your child qualifies for special education services. If eligible, an IEP team — which includes parents — develops goals, identifies services, and sets a placement. You have the right to review all documents in advance, bring an advocate, and disagree with the team’s recommendations. Little Champs ABA’s school-based ABA service can integrate with your child’s Jeffco IEP.
What age ranges does Little Champs ABA work with in Evergreen?
Little Champs ABA works with children from 18 months through the teen years. Early intervention typically produces the strongest outcomes, but older children and teenagers also benefit significantly from well-structured ABA therapy focused on social skills, independence, and daily living.
How does ABA therapy help with daily life routines like getting dressed or eating?
Daily living skills are a core focus of ABA therapy. Through task analysis — breaking a routine into small, sequential steps — and systematic reinforcement, ABA builds independence in routines that families struggle with every morning and evening. Progress on these skills often produces some of the most meaningful improvements in family quality of life.
