ABA therapy can be life-changing but it can also be expensive. The good news? Many families don’t have to pay out of pocket. In both Utah and Colorado, most insurance plans are required to cover ABA therapy for children with an autism diagnosis. This includes Medicaid, private insurance, and some state programs.
To access coverage, your child typically needs an autism diagnosis from a qualified provider. From there, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will create a treatment plan, and insurance will often cover most or all of the costs.
Some families also use health savings accounts (HSAs), state disability services, or apply for grants through nonprofit autism organizations.
At Little Champs ABA, we help you every step of the way, checking your benefits, guiding you through approvals, and working directly with your insurance to reduce financial stress.
